Westwood Intermediate and Middle School Continuum of Supports Prototype

Along with Westwood administrators, I helped develop this continuum to support schoolwide student learning and behavior at a systemic level

Reflection:

Both my coursework and practicum experiences supported continuous growth in this competency. From a practical application standpoint, joining building level behavior meetings and helping our middle school develop a continuum of supports focused on personnel and scheduling were both valuable learning experiences. In terms of coursework, digging more deeply into Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies through courses such as Special Services Principal Seminar expanded my understanding of how research based systems that are implemented well can create the conditions for extremely positive and proactive monitoring of student learning. Being able to grow in both theory and application has expanded my leadership capacity, and I am extremely grateful to have experienced that type of growth and development.
