Reflection:
While my work as a continuous improvement and innovation coach and coordinator of learning prior to entering my masters/licensure program primed me as an educational leader, I was grateful to continue to expand that learning. My growth within the leadership competency has been supported throughout both programs, both through coursework as well as my practicum experiences. I can say with confidence that my learning has facilitated a deeper understanding of the many facets that make up strong leadership. In particular, by working on both building and district level design teams, and being designated a project lead on district operational plan projects, I have both learned about and applied learning focused on developing shared decision making, prioritization, and strategic planning. It has been rewarding to immediately be able to translate my learning into everyday practice as I continue to build my leadership capacity in Spring Lake Park Schools.
